Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau Castles
During the middle of our stay in Stuttgart we decided to go deep into Bavaria and see “The Cinderella Castle”, or Neuschwanstein Schloss. It was a beautiful drive down to Füssen, and over to the castles. We arrived later in the morning so we decided against waiting in the long lines to tour the castle(s) and instead chose to walk up to and around them. What an incredibly beautiful place! (Do I say that about everywhere?) This is definitely one of those places that I alway thought it would be awesome to visit, but couldn’t fathom ever actually being able to. Clearly, this proves that Matt is my Prince Charming 🙂
Walking around Hohenschwangau Schloss we spotted a little KM sign (Katie and Matt!).
It was a quick trip to see the castles, but totally worth it. Even in a proper traffic jam that added an extra hour on to the trip. Even driving back in the dark on the autobahn without our rental’s headlights on… (Germans were very nice at letting us know as much, though, thankfully!). Too see the area just as the trees were changing colors was beautiful, I can only imagine how it looks at the peak of fall.
